A Pre-Proposal Conference will be held virtually via Zoom Friday, February 10th, 2023 at 10:00 AM, CST. Zoom link is included under the "Activities" Tab.
The Johnson County, Kansas Department of Aging and Human Services (AHS) is planning to purchase and provide 75 computer tablet devices designed specifically for older aged County residents that meet the criteria to receive AHS Aging Services. The tablet will offer a person-centered experience that combines touch screen technology with intuitive, picture-based software and a continually updated content library that can be tailored to individual preferences. The tablet should include all the features and content to keep older aged residents connected, entertained, and safe at home.

Question What kind of outcomes/data will AHS measure from delivery of tablets to seniors?
Answer AHS is interested in learning what types of data are available from firms who offer these devices. Outcomes and data provided will measure the impact on senior participants.

Question Can the cost be shared during the presentations?
Answer The County will require all cost be removed from any presentation before the scheduled date and time of the interview.

Question What is the anticipated interview format for short-listed finalists?
Answer If the County decides to proceed with interviews, the short-listed finalists will be scheduled for a virtual time slot, typically lasting an hour. Within this hour there will be time given for the firm's presentation as well as time alloted for Questions & Answers in a roundtable style.

Question A requirement is that the device can be connected to a cellular network. Is a SIM card required? Is there a need for WiFi?
Answer Both are required to provide contuinity of service and compatability.

Question Is the County open to other devices or just tablets?
Answer The County will accept proposals from firms that offer other devices as long as there is a tablet device and it can meet the specifications and requirements as outlined.

Question I'm trying to fill out the RFP for the adaptive engagement technology for the aging population grant but I can't seem to understand where are the questions that you want us to answer? I see on this pdf :

the scoring guideline but it seems that is a rubric for you guys to assess our answers. But where are the actual questions that you want us to answer for the proposal?
Answer The County is requesting proposals based on the RFP specifications and requirements. Please see section 13.1 INSTRUCTIONS FOR RESPONDING TO RFP which details the information required for the submittal.

Answer It is the County's preference to have these responses but it is not required.

Question Section 6.10, point e states “Capable of establishing a private email address”. Can you please clarify what this means? Will we be required to provide your tablet users with email addresses under a private domain?
Answer No, we are not establishing email addresses under a private domain. Our clients need to be able to establish an email address, if they don’t have one, that can be used with the tablet.
