Sealed bids will be received by the Planning & Development Department for the Johnson County Park and Recreation District (“JCPRD”) at the JCPRD Administration Building located at 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee Mission, Kansas, 66219 until 2:00 PM CDT on April 27, 2023 for Heritage Park Lake Water Quality and Habitat Improvements (Rebid).

This project includes the mechanical dredging of sediments (156,000 CY) and native earthen materials (42,000 CY) within Heritage Park Lake (40 acres) and approximately 1,500 feet of stream to restore lake volume. The work phasing has been simplified to maintain a reduced volume of irrigation water supply within the lake during construction activities. Individual work phase areas will be dewatered prior to dredging. Some grading, maintenance and restoration scope have been transferred to the Owner as part of cost reduction measures on the project. Dredged materials will be disposed of on-site within 3,500 feet of the lake in five (5) disposal areas, each with a water quality treatment train adjacent that will be constructed by the Contractor for use on the project. Lake water quality improvements are also part of this work including the construction of a sediment forebay (40,000 CY), wetland area (to be planted by pre-approved restoration contractor under an allowance), and water control structure; removal of existing infrastructure and island within the lake; and creation of deep-water cells for water quality and fish habitat.

A pre-bid meeting will held April 13, 2023 @ 2:00 PM at the Heritage Park Maintenance Building, located at 14025 W. 159th Street, Olathe, KS 66062 . Attendance is recommended, but not mandatory.
