Purpose: Johnson County is seeking bids for On-Call Interpreter and Translation Services, in accordance with the specifications outlined, for various Johnson County departments. The requested services will consist of providing foreign language interpretation and / or translation services on an as-needed basis for County and District Court programs and services at various county facilities, including but not limited to: Johnson County’s Aging and Human Services Department, County Manager’s Office, Johnson County Developmental Supports, Johnson County Department of Health and Environment, Johnson County Emergency Services, Johnson County Mental Health Center, Johnson County Park & Recreation District, Johnson County 10th Judicial District Court, Johnson County Court Services, Johnson County District Attorney’s Office, and Johnson County Department of Corrections.
Questions must be submitted via IonWave no later than 5:00PM CDT on October 11, 2023, to allow adequate time to issue an addendum, if needed.

Question 11. Can you provide the service locations for on-site interpretation?
Answer Per Section 4. SCOPE OF WORK: Johnson County is seeking bids for On-Call Interpreter and Translation Services, in accordance with the specifications outlined, for various Johnson County departments. The requested services will consist of providing foreign language interpretation and / or translation services on an as-needed basis for County and District Court programs and services at various county facilities, including but not limited to: Johnson County’s Aging and Human Services Department, County Manager’s Office, Johnson County Developmental Supports, Johnson County Department of Health and Environment, Johnson County Emergency Services, Johnson County Mental Health Center, Johnson County Park & Recreation District, Johnson County 10th Judicial District Court, Johnson County Court Services, Johnson County District Attorney’s Office, and Johnson County Department of Corrections.

Question 10. As we do not maintain a fleet of cars, we do not carry Automobile Liability Insurance. However, our interpreters maintain their own insurance, which meets the client’s requirements. Please confirm this is acceptable.
Answer Documentation is required for all contractor's providing these services. Please provide the individual interpreters coverage as a supplemental.

Question 9. Can we provide the offer only for one type of services, such as OPI services or Translation Services?
Answer Partial bids will be considered. Per Section 7.6 EVALUATION/AWARD: The Financial Management and Administration, Purchasing Division, reserves the right to award by item, groups of items, or on all or none basis; and reserves the right to reject any or all bids in part, or in its entirety, to waive any minor technicality or irregularities of bids received.

Based on historical data from past years and projections for 2023: What is the approximate volume of work needed per language per service (translation, onsite interpretation, over the phone interpretation, Video Remote interpretation)? If the data per language is not available, please provide any volume breakdowns you have.
Answer Information is not available. Expenditures for 2022 totaled approximately $250K, however, volume of services by type are not available.

Answer The County has utilized multiple cooperative contracts in the past for these services. Rates vary between cooperative contracts being utilized. It is the County's intent to award multiple new contracts.
