Description:

The Board of County Commissioners of Seward County, Kansas, will accept sealed bids for the replacement of the Ag Building wood floor with concrete floor located at 810 Stadium Road, Liberal, Kansas.

Sealed bids will be received at the Seward County Clerk’s Office, 515 N. Washington, Suite 100, Liberal, Kansas 67901, until 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read. The envelope should be plainly marked “Ag Building Floor Replacement”. Bids received after the scheduled time will be returned unopened. Bids will be presented to the Board of Seward County Commissioners at their regularly scheduled meeting on November 7, 2022.

Project information and specifications may be examined at the Seward County Clerk’s Office, 515 N. Washington, Suite 100, Liberal, KS 67901. Bid Security is NOT required on this project. In the event an accepted bidder’s contract price is $25,000 or greater, the accepted bidder will be required to provide a performance bond equal to 100% percent of the contract price. Such bond will be required at contract signing. All contractors and subcontractors that work on the project must be licensed with Seward County.

Solicitations from qualified minority and women owned businesses, firms and individuals are encouraged by Seward County. This encouragement does not infer preference and all solicitations will be evaluated equally. All purchases shall give preference to Seward County merchants when applicable. Award shall be made to the best bidder within Seward County when the amount is not more than five percent (5%) higher than the best out-of-county bid.

The Board of County Commissioners of Seward County, Kansas reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, the right to waive any or all irregularities therein, and the right to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the County.

• Replace Wood Floor with a 4,000 PSI with blended stain mix concrete floor with a smooth finish. (Color to be determine by Director)

Scope of Work
East End Ag-Wood Replacement to Concrete
1501 W. 8th Street

1. Pre-bid inspection of the replacement of wood floor to concrete project can be coordinated by contacting the Seward County Activity Director at 620-624-3743.
2. Contractor is responsible to verify sizes, measurements, material quantities and site conditions.
3. Work scheduling to be coordinated with owner.
4. Conduct construction operations with minimum interference to public or private accesses, and owner’s normal operations.
5. Maintain public areas unobstructed and free of debris.
6. All demolition and construction debris to be removed and properly disposed of at the Seward County Landfill or other approved location.
7. Work to start on Dec. 5, 2022 and concrete poured no later than Dec. 16, 2022.
8. Seward County is tax exempt, applicable tax-exempt forms may be obtained at the Seward County Clerk’s Office.
9. All work shall comply with the International Building Code.
10. Successful bidder and sub-contractors shall be currently licensed by Seward County and shall obtain all necessary permits and inspections. There will no permit fees charged for this project.
11. Successful bidder shall provide Seward County with _Two_ (2) year workmanship warranty and the material manufacturer warranty.
12. Any deviations from specified work or any change orders must have prior approval from owner.
13. In the event an accepted bidder’s contract price is $25,000.00 or greater, the accepted bidder shall provide a performance bond equal to 100% percent of the contract price & a Payment Bond for Project. Such bond will be required at contract signing.
