The City of Coffeyville is seeking contractors for “finish mowing” and “brush hog mowing” of overgrown yards and lots and City-owned lots during the 2023 growing season.
Contractors will tend overgrown lots, including the adjacent parking (area between curb and sidewalk) and alleyways. The contractor shall use his/her own equipment consisting of heavy-duty commercial or industrial grade mower and trimmer (weedeater) along with backup equipment in case of mechanical problems. The prospective contractor’s equipment must be listed and made available for visual inspection prior to signing a contract. The work will consist of mowing the lots to less than 3” in height and all grass and/or weeds not cut with a mower must be trimmed with commercial or industrial grade trimmers. All loose trash must be gathered and properly disposed of prior to mowing. To see a complete list of responsibilities or receive a copy of the contract contact City of Coffeyville Code Enforcement. The contractor to whom the work is awarded will be required to furnish a commercial general liability insurance policy issued by an insurance company authorized to do business in the State of Kansas with a minimum amount of $1,000,000 per occurrence and in the general aggregate. In addition, any employing contractor will be required to carry workman’s compensation insurance or sign an affidavit of exempt status. The City of Coffeyville will pay the contractor $20 per individual lot (standard lot is 50x140) or part thereof.
