Power can be provided to the conversion without the engine running by turning the ignition key to accessory position.

2.1 SEAT BELT ANCHOR SYSTEM

There is to be a full beam welded to the interior sidewall behind the squad bench. This beam is installed to provide a superior structure anchor point for the installation of the restraint system in the patient compartment.

3.0 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

3.1 ELECTRICAL SERVICE PANEL

All circuits shall be rated to carry at least 125% of its maximum load. Manual reset circuit breakers and relays shall protect each circuit. Each circuit that is rated more than three (3) amps shall be switched by use of a relay.

The electrical system shall be a multi-plex V-Mux system with control panels in the action area and cab.

3.2 ELECTRICAL SERVICE PANEL ACCESS

There shall also be a hinged access panel located above pass through window which will house the main wiring system for the entire unit, such as circuit breakers, and relays, along with numerical listings of each circuit.

3.3 ELECTRICAL WIRING

All the vehicle's electrical equipment shall be served by circuits separate and distinct from the chassis electrical system. All electrical wiring shall be run in grease, oil, heat and moisture resistant looming. Harnesses shall be fastened with vinyl-clad clamps and grommeted at any area they contact a metal edge.

Every load carrying wire shall be minimum of 12 or 14 gauge and shall be color coded and heat-embossed with its function every 4 to 6 inches.

There shall be at least a six-inch service loop of wire at the point of attachment to each component. All electrical connections shall be crimped; the use of Scotch-locks is strictly prohibited.

A Vanner Model LSC12-1100 Inverter shall be included.

3.4 12 VOLT DC SYSTEM

There shall be two (2) Cigar style 12VDC outlets. Both located in the action area.

3.5 11O VOLT AC SYSTEM

There shall be a weatherproof 11OV-125V male receptacle rated at 20 amps with a spring-loaded cover assembly located on the driver's side close to the driver's door for incoming 110 volt power. This receptacle shall be labeled. It shall be wired through one 20-amp circuit breaker. An indicator light shall be installed above the outlet. The circuit shall include two (6) 110-volt interior receptacles, one (1) located in the action area and one (2) located over the squad bench, (3) in the front wall. All outlets shall illuminate per KKK-A-1822-F.

3.7 SCENE LIGHTS

Scene lights shall be four (4) Whelen Series 7SCOENZR LED surface mounted two (2) lights on the left side and two (2) lights on the right side. A separate switch on the driver’s switch panel shall control each pair. In addition, the right side and rear scene lights shall activate when the right side or rear doors, respectfully, are open.

Siren shall be a Whelen 295HFSC9 Dual Tone with Wail, Yelp, Hi/Lo and Phaser sounds.

The ceiling headliner shall contain eight (8) Intertek LED High - Low intensity dome lights. The left and right banks of lights shall be switched separately. The left bank high mode will be activated by opening of the rear doors; right bank activated by opening of the side door. In addition, a 6” LED light shall be installed in the action area.

All switches in front and rear panels shall be positive contact rocker type switches that are permanently marked by function, illuminate when activated and backlit for night visibility. All switches are to be independently replaceable.

4.0 PATIENT COMPARTMENT

4.1 FLOOR, PATIENT COMPARTMENT

The subfloor there shall be ¾” exterior grade plywood that is caulked and sealed. The floor is then covered with a single piece of Lon Coin flooring, which shall roll up the left wall approximately 3". Coving shall be installed at the base of the left wall running the full length of the floor prior to the installation of the linoleum. Flooring shall be sealed at all edges to prevent liquids from seeping between the floor and cabinets.

A formed 1 ¾”, full width stainless steel floor protection strip shall be installed forward of the rear patient compartment door seal.

4.2 CABINETS, PATIENT COMPARTMENT

All interior cabinets shall be built using ¾” cabinet grade, solid core plywood. The use of plywood of any lesser quality or thickness is strictly prohibited.

Exposed cabinet surfaces, interior and exterior, are to be covered with “Wilsonart” laminate. Sliding Plexiglas windows shall be 1/4" thick with full height extruded aluminum handles mounted in full perimeter slide track. Door catches shall be flush-mount slam-type positive latching.

4.3 CABINETS, LEFT WALL

The left wall shall incorporate a floor-mounted climate control unit. Unit shall be drained directly through the floor. Air intake shall be at floor level while output shall be ducted overhead. Left rear storage shall be provided for stair chair. Forward of that shall be two large cabinets with sliding glass doors and adjustable shelves. Running from the front to back, at the ceiling line shall be three cabinets with flip-up plexi glass doors. At the front of the left wall shall be the V-MUX switch panel, oxygen outlets, 12V outlets and digital thermostat. Next to the switch panel and above it will be two small cabinets with sliding plexi glass doors. A 12” Gab handle shall be installed for mounting of an IV pump. Above the action area a (3) three glove storage shall be installed. A digital clock shall be installed on the cabinet wall.

4.4 BULKHEAD & CABINETS

The front wall shall incorporate a 12” wide cabinet with (2) adjustable shelves and plexi doors. (2) two 110V outlet shall be installed (1) one at the top of the cab and (1) one at the bottom Below shall be an 8” tall by 28” dual cabinet split in the middle with tip down doors. One side shall have a Simplex lock. Below shall be a Dometic refrigerator drawer with Simplex lock. Main O2 shall be mounted under the cabinet stack in a transverse housing with (2) “M” brackets tied together. On the door side of the cabinet a 12” grab handle shall be installed. The attendant seat shall be incorporate a 3-point child seat. To the rear of the seat shall be (1) one O2 outlet and (1) one 110V/USB outlet. A fitted aluminum barrier shall be installed between the cab & module to prevent the chance of infectious airborne particles from reaching the drivers compartment.

4.5 SQUAD BENCH

The squad bench shall be constructed of 3/4" cabinet grade, solid core, 7-ply Birch Plywood. Storage space shall be provided under the hinged squad bench seat with access via a paddle latch. There shall be 2-point seat belts for 3 seating locations with all belts being tested and certified to meet or exceed FMVSS 206. Additionally, there are to be 2 belts provided for the securing of a second patient on the Squad Bench. A drop in sharps shall be included at the front of the bench and a drop in waste area shall be at the rear of the bench. (2) two 110V outlets shall be installed on the bench wall along with a dial timer. A cargo net shall be installed at the head of the bench. There shall be a slot at the rear of the bench that allows spine board storage.

4.6 SEAT, EMT / ATTENDANT

An attendant seat with an integrated child seat shall be located at the head of the primary cot. It shall be a molded/contoured seamless seat with integrated 3-point belt system that has been tested and certified to meet or exceed FMVSS 206 and mounted on the transfer O2 compartment.

4.7 SHARP'S & WASTE CONTAINERS

There shall be a Sharp's Container mounted at the head of the Squad Bench with access to each via Plex-glass “Flip-up Doors” clearly labeled as “Sharps”. Removal shall be via a forward-facing access door at the head of the bench. The “Waste” Container shall be located at the rear of the bench.

4.8 UPHOLSTERY

All seat cushions and protective pads shall be constructed of either l/4”, 1”, 2-1/2", and 3” fire-retardant foam covered with minimum 40 ounce vinyl. All seat cushions shall be vacuum-formed seamless.

4.9 HEADLINER

The headliner shall be constructed of a thermoplastic core sandwiched between two sheets of aluminum finished in semi-gloss white. The headliner is to provide for the limitation of heat transfer from the roof, reflection of light and be easily cleaned. There is to be a removable center section to gain access to wiring that is covered with a padded vinyl. (1) IV hook shall be installed in the headliner.

4.10 INTERIOR PANELING

Walls shall be covered with high pressure Wilsonart laminate material. Exposed surface shall be mar, dent and scratch resistant.

4.11 GRAB RAIL, OVERHEAD

A full-length 7/8" polished grab rail shall be installed on patient compartment ceiling. This rail shall be capable of supporting a minimum of 300 pounds.

4.12 INSULATION

The entire patient compartment shall be blanketed with a layer of R-14.5 “Reflectix” insulation to provide exceptional insulation and sound deadening qualities. Additionally, fiberglass insulation shall be added to numerous areas of the ceiling and side walls.

4.13 CLIMATE CONTROL

Rear climate control shall he mounted at floor level at left front of patient compartment to shorten refrigerant and anti-freeze hoses. Condensation from high humid conditions shall drain directly through floor to avoid water build up and "spitting' on humid days. Air intake shall be at floor level, while output shall be at four vents located in the ceiling for increased airflow.

The unit shall be a Danhard with 27,000 BTU cooling capacity and a 28,000 BTU heating capacity. The blower motor shall have permanent magnets and be capable of delivering 630 CFM of airflow. The blower must be removable without removing entire heat/cool unit and without disconnection of any coolant lines.

Both heating and cooling shall be controlled by a thermostat with 3-speed manual fan speed control. The digital thermostat shall be located on the action wall.

4.14 COT MOUNT

A Stryker Universal Floor Plate shall be installed for the installation of a Cot Mount.

4.15 OXYGEN OUTLETS

Oxygen system shall be plumbed with conductive hose from oxygen compartment to two AMVEX, Ohio style oxygen outlets, (1) located in the action wall area and (1) one at the front wall.

4.16 OXYGEN COMPARTMENT

Shall be located transverse in the bulkhead at floor level with curbside access at the patient compartment side entry door and securely fastened to the floor. (2) two Zico “QRMV” Slide-Out O-2 Bottle Brackets shall be installed to secure the tanks. These mounts shall fit "M" size cylinders. This oxygen bottles shall be accessible through a one-piece door with a positive latch and shall be removable from outside the unit while standing, without physically entering the patient compartment. A plexi glass access door is to be provided for access to the O2 bottles on/off valve and gauge with a second plexi glass access door at the foot of the bottle.

There shall be horizontal storage provided on the “face” of the Squad Bench for the storage of two (2) Backboards with access via the rear patient compartment entry door.
