This is a Sources Sought request, looking for eligible vendors to respond to the following: NCO15 Contracting is asking for responsible vendors to provide a capabilities statement to meet the attached statement of work for design of Project 589-24-450, Upgrade Building 26 Chillers at the Kansas City VAMC. This is not an invitation for proposal and no solicitation will result from this announcement it is used for Market research only. This procurement is a SDVOSB total set aside and it will be solicited under NAICS Code: 541330 Architect and Engineering- Engineering Services.
General Statement: The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) requires Architectural and Engineering (A/E) services to produce stand-alone Construction Documents, Reports, and Specifications for: Project 589-24-450, Upgrade Building 26 Chillers located at the Kansas City VA Medical Center (KCVA).
The construction magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.
This project will replace two Carrier chillers located outside of Building 26, upgrade the existing HVAC system to support the new chillers, and provide a temporary unit to maintain services in the ICU's, Sterile Processing, and Operating Rooms while permanent units are being replaced. A new emergency generator will be installed to provide backup power for the increased electrical demand associated with the upgraded chillers. Temporary generator(s) to be provided as needed to complete the project.
Design Services: A/E services are required for preparation of Existing Condition Narrative/Studies, Phasing Design, Schematic Designs including options, Design Development, Construction Drawings (to include infection prevention and construction barriers through drawings and specifications), Specifications, Calculations, Commissioning, and As-Built Documents. Included in the scope of the A/E design services is to determine optimal phasing for the work and providing phasing documents. Professional disciplines will include but are not limited to Architectural, Interior Design, Structural, Sanitary, Plumbing, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Electrical, Fire Detection and Protection, Steam, Telecommunications, Medical Gas, Automatic Door, Announcement System, Security, Third Party Commissioning, Environmental Safety and Health, Asbestos and Hazardous Materials Abatement, and Cost Estimating for this project. No VA provided information shall be considered accurate until confirmed by the A/E of record.
