Topeka VA Histology Lab is requesting purchase of new pathology equipment: Mopec Grossing Station, Thermo Scientific Heratherm Advanced Protocol Microbiological Incubator, Epredia Microm HM525 NX Cryostat. This Station is used for dissecting, cutting, and processing tissue and biopsy pathology specimens to aid in diagnosing malignant and non-cancerous findings in a clean environment. This incubator is used for growing bacterial cultures to determine and isolate organisms that can cause infections in the body. The cryostat is utilized in the Histology department to cut histological slides during a frozen section allowing for rapid intraoperative disease diagnoses.
