NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD-SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT TO LARGE BUSINESS

The Government intends to pursue a Sole Source Award to Getinge USA Sales, LLC., for a Services contract to provide Getinge Sterilizer Autoclaves Annual Certification & Maintenance located at the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF). Getinge USA Sales, is the sole factory provider of service and support for the US market on infection control equipment manufactured by Getinge under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements".

Summary of Award

The USDA National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF), located in Manhattan Kansas is soliciting for a non-personal services contract to provide Getinge Sterilizer Autoclaves Annual Certification & Maintenance at the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF) Campus. Per specifications listed below.

Specifications

Vendor shall provide annual certification and maintenance support for 30 sterilizers/autoclaves located in the NBAF main lab. Additionally, the contractor shall provide documentation (certification, supporting records, and measurement uncertainties) that the equipment has been annually certified. The sterilizer/autoclaves systems are in a containment portion of the facility, so the contractors will have to work in containment. The contractor’s key personnel need to be certified Getinge technicians to perform the certification and maintenance support on Getinge equipment.

The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within fifteen days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
